DOT Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) Report Service

What is the Pre-Employment Screening Program? The Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) allows carriers, individual drivers, and industry service providers access to commercial drivers' safety records from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) Motor Carrier Management Information System (MCMIS). Records are available 24 hours a day via the PSP web site.

What information does the Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) record contain?

The PSP program helps carriers make more informed hiring decisions by providing secure, electronic access to a commercial driver’s five-year crash and three-year inspection history from the FMCSA Motor Carrier Management Information System (MCMIS). PSP records are available for commercial drivers and companies conducting pre-employment screening for the carrier industry.

FMCSA studied PSP’s impact on safety and the results showed that companies using PSP to screen new hires lowered their crash rates by 8% and driver out-of-service rates by 17%, on average!

Not Hiring Due To PSP Report? We Handle The Legalities.

If you decide not to hire a driver based on information found in their PSP report, there are requirements you must follow. Our online driver qualification program handles these requirements for you, which includes sending an email to the driver explaining their rights, providing necessary information and allowing you to easily send the PSP report to them if requested.
